about

YOUR NEW ROMANTIC CATHARSIS🥀❤️‍🩹 A tale of romance gone rotten through the lens of horror!...

Ever loyal to their dark & debaucherous aesthetic, Deadsled’s "Boy Dahlia" features bold & intense themes of horror, romance, & morbidity. Just as can be said about the band’s debut single, “Dovehorns,” "Boy Dahlia" presents clear and heavy influences from brooding, hard-rocking, and experiential acts such as Type O Negative, Avenged Sevenfold, My Chemical Romance, HIM, and Ghost. However, “Boy Dahlia” is a far more personal and poignant piece lyrically than the band’s previous release. While “Dovehorns,” boasting lecherous & wildly gothic lyrical content, is an ostentatious, highly thematic introduction to the band as well as a thrilling anthem for all who have an affinity for decadence & the macabre, “Boy Dahlia” is a more humble & emotionally cathartic piece which tells a highly relatable tale of heartbreak and regret through the lens of horror. With a beautifully memorable chorus featuring richly layered vocal harmonies and heart-pounding bass groove all broken up by Deadsled’s signature upbeat guitar-and-drum oriented aggression, “Boy Dahlia” delivers a story of love and loss through an ironically high-energy, fun-loving yet distinctly gothic aural experience.

lyrics

LYRICS:
If you find your way back
Would you say that I was in the wrong
For feeling all alone
Would you understand that
The way I treated you was for the best
When I laid it all to rest

All night long
Sitting on the phone to say
You don’t miss me in that way
Now I know what I’ve done wrong
Still I let you lead me on this
Broken boy won’t find a home

All alone
These broken bones
Will never mend til you get home
Chemicals used to numb the void
You left inside my soul

All night long
Sitting on the phone to say
You don’t miss me in that way
Now I know what I’ve done wrong
Trusted you too long

All night long
Sitting on the phone to say
You don’t miss me in that way
Now I know what I’ve done wrong
Trusted you too long

A soul that’s cold and dirty (All night long)
Just like the sheets on your bed (Sitting on the phone)
These chemicals are fading (To say)
Now I am wishing you dead (You don’t miss me in that way)

A house that’s unfamiliar (Now I know)
The hard wood floors blood stained red (What I’ve done wrong)
This all just goes to show that
Still I let you lead me on this
Broken boy won’t find a home
